While Myanmar remains on high alert for the new coronavirus, the groundbreaking ceremony for the submergible bridge currently under construction in Kayin State was held on December 27.
Despite the corona disaster, the ceremony was attended by about 10 government leaders, including the Chief Minister of Kayin State, the Minister, the Speaker of the Kayin State Assembly, and members of parliament, showing the high expectations of the local community for the construction of the submergible bridge. Due to restrictions on travel from the metropolitan city of Yangon to the rural areas, local JIP staff were not able to attend the ceremony, but with over 100 local residents watching, the ceremony was successfully completed with the wearing of masks and consideration of social distance.
Although the new year has begun and we are still in a difficult situation in terms of domestic and international activities, we will continue to devote ourselves to our work this year.
