“MLIT Lunchtime Session 2024,” an opinion exchange meeting between international students studying civil engineering in Japan and young officers of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, was held on October 3 hosted by JIP. This time, 20 international students from 13 countries and 20 MLIT officials participated.
During the group talk session, in which participants paired up to enjoy free conversation, the topics ranged from domestic and international civil engineering projects to personal hobbies, which enabled them to deepen their friendships. In closing, Mr. Masayoshi Hirose, Vice-Minister for Engineering Affairs, gave a speech, encouraging the international students to make use of what they have learned in Japan to build bridges between Japan and their home countries and to solve problems around the world.
