Technical instruction for civil engineers in developing countries is a main pillar of JIP’s submersible bridge project, so workshops on bridge construction and flood control are held every year in March and May, gathering government and construction workers from around the construction area.
Usually, JIP members, who are experts in civil engineering, travel from Japan to Myanmar to give lectures, but amid concerns about the spread of the new coronavirus infection, we were able to hold the seminar successfully under the leadership of our staff stationed in Myanmar. The participants eagerly engaged in the lectures and exercises and acquired a wide range of knowledge as well as useful skills for practical use.
The venue was wonderfully prepared.
Currently, we are constructing four sunken bridges in Myanmar. Although we are concerned about the future progress of these projects, we would like to keep in close contact with the local staff and proceed carefully.
